Excelsio Communications Inks Agreement with Website WiMax.com to Expand WiMAX Technology Adoption

by Michael Wolleben last modified 2005-07-07 10:23 PM

July 5th, 2005: Excelsio Communications, a recognized leader in pre-WiMAX and metro Wifi engineering and consulting services, announces a strategic relationship with WiMax.com, the leading informational and educational website for WiMAX technologies.

As part of the agreement between the firms, WiMax.com will expand its Internet presence and services to include WiMAX network planning, consulting and network deployment services.    Cities and operators will be able to quickly and easily acquire services such as network planning, design and deployment.

Bill Stark, President of Excelsio Communications, said, "Cities and traditional wired service operators are looking for not only relevant WiMAX educational information, but also qualified network engineering services in order to take the next steps toward deployment.  The WiMax.com name and educational strategy is sure to expand the market for WiMAX technologies and we think our capabilities of helping cities and operators plan, design and build WiMAX networks will be greatly enhanced by working with them".

Mike Wolleben, CEO and Founder of WiMax.com, noted, "With our innovative website, we think we've broken the mold on how cities and operators can get information not only on industry news, but also WiMAX network planning, modeling, design or deployment.  We want to make it easy for them to find the information they need so they can go about developing a solution for customers."

Wolleben added, "We have a great offering today at our site.  We get tens of thousands of hits per month worldwide and we already offer world-class WiMAX training services.  These additional services and capabilities provided by Excelsio will continue to make our site the premier outlet for WiMAX news and tools and services to help cities and operators take the next steps to deployment."

Cities or service operators worldwide will be able to click through the WiMax.com website and complete a simple form outlining their interest level in certain aspects of WiMAX including not only planning and engineering but also products.    Cities and operators are generally planning to use WiMAX technologies to supplement or replace expensive wired connections for data and voice services including traffic video streams, office VoIP, Internet surfing, file sharing and other data applications.

"Cities and service operators are clamoring for basic deployment information and we believe this new combination of efforts between our companies will help get the right information to the right people, easily and affordably.  There are a lot of misconceptions about WiMAX and we believe this new delivery mechanism of education and services can help solve some of that dilemma and move the market forward faster," said Stark.
